The bicentennial of the Lewis and Clark Expedition begins in January 2003 with the 200th anniversary of President Thomas Jefferson's letter to Congress requesting funds to explore the Northwest Passage. "Blacksmiths in the Corps of Discovery" is about the three blacksmiths who traveled with the expedition and their contributions to its success.
