"RUSTY", the Appalachian Power Hammer in Oklahoma

Hello, my name is Gary Don Crawford.  I'm from Cherokee County, Oklahoma.

I am a full-time welding instructor and part-time bladesmith.  I have been making my own Damascus for many years, all done the old fashion way with hammer and anvil.

I built my version of Rusty using mostly scrap metal that I have collected over the years. Total cost was around $300.

This hammer works great and has helped to speed up the process of making Damascus.  What used to take me 3 weekends, now I can do in 3 hours. Here is a picture of my hammer.
